Worst Chemical Attack in Years in Syria; U.S. Blames Assad

Did I forget to mention the seemingly obvious: that the US seems to still not have understood that wars, conflicts, and even borders are faught and infiltrated on a cyber security level. No matter what bricks you pile on top of each other, what is the point when outside state actors infiltrate you through fiber optic and copper lines? It's a travesty that the majority of the nation has to bow to what farmers and country side people interpret as secure and they think a wall is gonna bring back prosperity when danger freely flows through electric wires and a domestic elite is amassing ever more wealth at the expense of everyone else. What value does a wall at to domestic jobs that nobody wants in the first place.

Well first of all, let me inform you what the perception is in the rest of the world of who pushed back against ISIS. It is that Americans have done zilch. Soon after Russia entered the equation, suddenly ISIS strongholds were defeated. So Trump nor Obama have accomplished much. I am stressing that this is the perception, not reality. Other than Trump claiming he would hit ISIS hard, which he has not done at all so far, he campaigned with the take that he would pull back from involvement in the world. Suddenly North Korea is a concern to Americans? Suddenly nukes are a concern to the US? Wow, that must be new (cynical). Trump is a master twister of facts and truth. He criticized Democrats for being hawkish on international military interventions and sanctions yet he harbors the same concerns as everyone else, except he thinks in his inflated mind that he can walk in there on his own.

Re wall, who is gonna be paying for that? None of the funds have been authorized. The few dollars he pulled out of the HS butt pay maybe for 1 or 2 drones and infrared sensors.

Tough to argue that. You're right.

Very good questions. Smells fishy to me. The Saudi/Qatari plan to overthrow the Assad government to clear the way for nat gas pipeline to Europe is falling apart. So they gin up a gas attack and send their stooge John McCain out to try to panic Trump into getting us more involved.

You may want to watch the last senate hearing on cyber espionage when they invited private industry security experts to share their testimony and answer questions. It became blatantly obvious that Russia is miles ahead the US in terms of cyber espionage and hacking capabilities. The US was publicly likened to sitting in a glass house should they choose as only option to retaliate. I think that tells you a lot about how funds have been miss allocated in the US to build couple more useless aircraft carriers and funnel couple more billions into stealth fighter programs when the future is fought over on computers.

I admit to being skeptical. Fool me once, etc.

Instead of ad hominem attacks however, you might address the question of why in the world would the Syrians do this when they are on the verge of victory. It's not like we have any sort of clear evidence either. Why is it our problem, other than the fact John McCain desperately wants to start WW III?

On the one hand, we have Assad, who is in bed with Iran and its proxy army hezbollah. On the other, we have the Saudi's, who sponsored 9/11, and Qataris, both of whom financed ISIS, which has murdered Christians by the tens of thousands and consider sex slavery one of the benefits of being a muslim jihadi. I wish we could nuke both of them.

I say let the Russians, Turks, Kurds et al sort it out. We have enough on our own plate, just cleaning up the messes Obama made.
