A friend of mine who's in the know, is saying that Worldco may either shut down some office's or let some trader's go. Has anyone else heard this?

No, not at all. MCI-Worldco shut down their daytrading operations, but not their telecom division. In fact, MCI-Worldco stock I think is a strong buy.
