I like your outlook on this business and the outcomes of running a group are very true. I just don't agree with the aspect that extra hours won't help and that you know everything you need to about trading. I think our business is a continuing education. You can always raise your game by pushing. Not being critial - just giving you something to think about.
I am hurting too and am pushing through with my group. They can be a distraction and do deter from my trading at times which I knew would happen. As you did.
How many guys are in your group? Going after generic is a good strategy - sure anyone can walk out the door and find a better deal but as a group manager it is our job to find talent and get them working for our future. Worldco got big because walter went out and got smart people (except to work in MIS).
Whoever made that comment about pissing contest - we were given our position to grow a group so attacking the competition is a viable strategy.
