Reading these posts I would like to give you my take on Walter. I worked there for 3 yrs. Is he a crook? As far as I know, NO! But he will do anything as long as it is not illegal. Yes!
The good thing about Walter is he gives people there chance and the guy is a great recruiter. Walter is the master when it comes to recruiting! When he interviewed me, I told him Schonfeld was giving me a 2k a month draw plus 50% payout, and a penny a share commission ( I should of went with Schonfeld). I could not afford to live in NYC and needed some living money. This guy gave me the same draw but 1.4 cents a share and 80% payout. The down side I found out was after I signed with him. If its not on paper, it does not count. My draw was not there, but when I needed cash he gave me commission rebates. This was good till just about the time I was only grossing. He told me I am out of S.O.L. and to work at nights waiting tables. He told me to stiff my landlord and who ever else I needed to trade. The guy is a bit nuts.
On the other hand, he gave me a chance to work the trading desk and get a salary. I turned it down! I wanted to day trade. Another opportunity this guy gave me was to open a office of my own when everyone was starting to hurt and not make any money.
Besides that he also offered me to develop his land in the North Fork of Long Island. Over all I think Walter is a good guy, but it depends on his mood. He is no different then any other business man. Except that he gives anyone he sees potential in a chance. Compare Walter to any other guy on Wall St, he is a saint!
The question I see here is would you work for him again? Hell No! Not just Walter or anyone in the business world. They are all vultures, who wait for ambitious, fresh blood to take advantage of. Thatâs the price that comes with opportunity!
