Earlier they said it was caused from and earthquake. I'm still trying to picture how an earthquake could affect a ship at sea in that way.

It would be our oil interests that we would protect. This could quickly spike the price up as you know if it was terrorism. Secondly I believe the pact of post WWII requires us to protect their interest to an extent, what that is I don't know?

I heard somewhere that a foreign army (probaply Mexican drug cartel) now controls several US villiages and have invaded several farms along the US-Mexican border.

Is this really true, if so how come the US army have not blown up these guys (and the rest of Mexico) to protect its own soil....???

This is not a new issue by any means.
Now, China is claiming full soverinty over ALL of the South China Sea. They have made similar claims to the Yellow Sea as well.
The Chinese now say their claim is indesputable. Major Chinese naval exercises just concluded in the SCS.
