Word on the Street is Antifa is setting the fires on the West Coast

I'm sorry but despite some unfortunate isolated events we can't keep up with the massive amount of gun related violence and mass shootings in the US. It's a big part of your culture and any attempts at gun control have failed.

You do recognize the safest cities and town in the U.S. are those who have high legal ownership of firearms. The gun related violence is very high in cities like Chicago that effectively ban the legal ownership of firearms for most citizens. This leaves the criminals armed and the law-abiding citizens unable to protect themselves.

While I agree that there are steps that can be taken to control the gun violence in the U.S. and I have outlined my thoughts previously in these forums..... taking guns away from law-abiding citizens with no criminal/mental crisis problems is not one of the solutions.

You can reference the healthcare ranking list in any recent year.... the results are...

Canada ranked third-last for health care among developed countries
Out of 11 countries, Canada was ranked ninth for health care, placing just above France and the United States.

When compared with other first world nations with public medical plans, Canada does not fare very well.

The same study has your "superior medical care" ranked dead last by a wide margin.

it's actually false flag operatives putting the pressure on the west coast. Putin funded. For latest, look at shooting in LA.

The U.S. is ranked at the bottom of the list. You are correct. However the actual medical care in the U.S. is superior in terms of technology, timeliness, delivery, staffing, and many other factors but it is costly. This leads to the problem in the U.S. with the disparity in results.

While you try to press a case that I don't have empathy for those in the U.S. who have limited access to healthcare due to cost... I have actually pushed that the U.S. needs a public system and the problem with Obamacare is that it did not go far enough. Obamacare was a giveaway to the U.S. insurance companies, pharma companies and others which has merely served to greatly increase medical costs in the U.S. while providing even worse results despite more "coverage". "Expanded coverage" sucks when the poor don't go to the doctor because they can't afford the co-pay.

The U.S. will be ranked last of these 11 nations until we get some type of appropriate public plan in place that reduces the disparity in our healthcare. I certainly hope that any plan put in place looks more like those of a top-ranked public healthcare country rather than a bottom ranked public healthcare country (e.g. France, Canada). We should be able to look at the various systems and find a solution that works best -- but the reality is our politicians never look for the best solution but the one that is most politically convenient while pleasing their largest donors.

Bottom line most Canadians ( a huge majority actually ) will not agree with you on gun control and health care. All you are doing here is shooting the messenger. Canadians differ from Americans greatly on these issues. There will always be people who differ from the national consensus, but most of us could easily migrate to the other country if we wanted to pre-Covid.
