Word of the Day: Context

Then, as I was still in earshot something must've sparked in his head. With a raised voice, a lil' on the jokey side: 'Oh, I forgot to say, much of the notebook is blank, but during your great-aunt's last days she wrote on the first couple of dozen pages. She said that whoever should receive the notebook would be in possession of not just a notebook, but a seed, which if watered could grow into a tree or even a forest.'

Bemused, I acknowledged his words and absquatulated. By now it were gettin' late and 'cos my mind were on the oof, I didn't give the notebook much thought as I walked the chalk down the road. I held the box under my arm, secure like and headed back the way I'd come. I didn't know Boston too well, but did at least know where the tenderloin was at, and it were callin' time.

Thank you for the whole story.
If you want to check if this seed would grow to a tree or a forest,
then let me know, as I'd like to do the experiment.

Said in passing : why did she leave all to charitable trusts and just the minimum to yourself,
and still asked you to come around?
Inheritances : when significant money is involved, family members can become very much divided, full of duplicity and manipulations. So these are often tricky.
