Woods... Will He Surpass Nicklaus's 18 Majors?

Tiger in his prime...yes.

The media pundits still predict Tiger will win every major. It doesn't matter to them that he can't close the deal on weekends for the past 4 years running; they just can't imagine that his best years are behind him.

To put it into perspective. The "hands down" second best player in the game over the past generation is Phil Mickelson. It's taken him 21 years on tour to win 5 majors.

So this notion that it's a sure thing that Tiger can just rattle off 4-5 majors in the next 4 years is very low odds. Not impossible, but I'd bet heavily against it.

he did leave the tour around the time they started the drug testing
he may have had a crazy sex drive and I just read that hgh increases your drive.
And I read his chiropractor was also working on Balco guys.

However, I also read that Tiger said he has never taken an illegal drugl.

Since I really do not know... I will give him the benefit of the doubt... based on that strong statement.

however if anyone comes along and counters it... then I will suspect he is a cheat.

Agreed. There is plenty of circumstantial evidence; the PGA Tour is in a no-win situation with their testing and the complete lack of transparency in which they disclose testing results.

Only a fool would believe that PED's haven't impacted every professional sport at this point.

So how do you feel about probable baseball Hall of Famers like Mike Piazza, Pudge Rodriguez and Jeff Bagwell?

Do you give them the benefit of the doubt since they have also said they never took PED's?

The truth is by using modern standards of what really makes up an official tournament (ie, number of holes needed to be played, number of players required, etc.) he has already passed Snead who legitimately only has 74 wins, not 82. I am giving him the benefit of the doubt because he never said he never took and illegal drug.

With all the people who have been watching him over the years.
If that statement were b.s. I suspect we would know about it.

So if someone has never even smoked pot... I tend to believe he might not have taken steriods.

Although given that other evidence I can see why you might say that my position is naive.


Unfortunately when it comes to baseball players and bike riders I suspect any good performance is tainted until proven otherwise.

And piazza sure fits that suspicious track... comes out of nowhere... dominates... cashes out with the mets and fades.

Woods is the most dominant player in the game, now or ever. There isn't a close second. Did his antics off the course impact his game? Yes. If not for that he'd have 20 majors already. He'll easily have 100+ total wins in his career, but majors are different. I still think he'll beat that old record, but it will be more of a struggle for him.
Is he a likable guy. Guess it all depends what you're looking for. His personality seems a bit harsh, but as a golfer out on the course there has been no other like him. None, zero, nada.
 
It should have said Tiger stated he never took and illegal drug.

Agreed.

It pisses me off that some guys are given a pass about PED use in baseball when anyone with common sense knows they used at some points of their "hall of fame" career (This is especially directed at Piazza, Bagwell, Biggio, and the "untouchable" Griffey jr).

The fact that Griffey never gets mentioned baffles me. The Texas Rangers were ground zero of the steroid era but Seattle wasn't far behind.

Obvious PED users from the Mariners 1995-1999 teams- Arod, Edgar Martinez, Tino Martinez, Jay Buehner, Glen Allen Hill, Paul Sorento, Russ Davis, David Segui, Raul Ibanez and KEN GRIFFEY JR!
