"Scientific" do you happen to recall what area of the world was sampled? As in most studies, there could be selection bias.
As a matter of fact, you got it wrong again, at least according to the study. What the average male seeks in a woman is looks, not money. And looks are what appeal to me more than money in a woman, also.
I don't know what type of sample, etc., was used, but it was done by some supposedly learned profs at a university. I would have to say that I personally believe in the validity of the study as it bears out what I have observed.
