Woman's yard sale to pay medical bills shut down by city.

Quote from AK Forty Seven:

The problem is peil if she had a pre existing condition she likely couldn't get a policy even if she wanted to.While I think Obama care is 99 % garbage I want to keep it for an end to the pre existing condition ban alone

A decent heath ins policy for a middle aged women is far more then 100 a month.A car and health are 2 different things. You can avoid your car scenario by not buying or driving a car, many people cant avoid getting sick.

Yes I think tax payers should pay taxes for a national health care system

Thats why she should've got insurance before she had that condition. Just like the insurance company isnt going to pay for you to fix your car if you got in an accident before you got insurance.

When my Dad retired at 60 he kept his health insurance from his job which cost about $350 per month just for him. (this was back in 1990) He could've let it drop and saved $350 per month, but then he needed some operations a few years later that ran $60k plus each. If he didnt keep that insurance, the hospital bills would've wiped out his life savings. He did the smart thing and didnt try to cut corners with his health and just "hope for the best" He knew he was getting older and might need medical care later so he paid the money before he got sick. And now you want to tax people like him more for the people that didnt want to pony up the insurance money up front.

If you make it so people can get insurance when they have preexisting conditions....well who the hell would buy insurance ever then? They would just wait until they get sick and then buy it and when they are better drop it again. That would put insurance out of business and EVERYONE would have to pay cash.

Think of it like this...why would you buy car insurance if you could just purchase it after you already crash your car and they would fix it?

Gotta come to the real world Piel.Millions of Americans work paycheck to paycheck. There are times when a person /family has to choose between rent/health ins,food/health ins, getting their car fixed so they can get to work and health ins

Every American at some point needs health care and a way to get it,if the private sector doesn't offer an affordable way to offer health care to the public the government needs to
