Without the Hurricane, would the market be up?

no but late shorts who were watching went negitive this am and got their ass handed to them.the smarter shorts covered on the gap down. add in eom windowdressing and you have a nice rally.
 
All im saying is market was acting crappy on Friday and Greenspan didnt help over the weekend. This market is not one to figure out. Just buy it until the money stops flooding in.

I agree with the rally from last night's lows, but not with the rally from Friday's close. But the market doesn't have to make sense to me or anybody else. It does it's own thing without asking us.
 
Thought about restarting this discussion. My embedded answer was that it made no sense (even though the mkt was telling you to buy).

Lets see what happens today, we should get a real picture after the fear/short squeeze is over...

August & OCT tends to be down on DOW/Nasdaqqq anyway;
probably would have gone down more monday if storm hadnt gapped it.

QQQQ is down again premarket.:cool: ;
smart shorts probably did cover early, but OCT is almost here.:cool:
