Winter of 2009-2010 Could Be Worst in 25 Years

Quote from killthesunshine:

dude, if you ain't God there is only theory, what's yours for the climate changes that we are measuring. ? or more accurately whose coattails you riding

ok, first, im a ball of contained rage when it comes to this topic.

ill give you the benefit of the doubt, you're simply a peon to your climatalogist overlords

so, I think the original question was how many years we have left to live, unless we tax carbon... Was that it?

Quote from killthesunshine:

don't you refrain yourself, give it to me straight up.

extreme swings in temp are part the theory, the significance of the theory is the gradual increase in GLOBAL temp (not just your cold ass here in US :D

we are taking GEOLOGIC TIME. whether you or i have a cold winter or two is insignificant .. do you see this???

Correct. A larger number of extreme weather events of higher intensity are mentioned as likely consequences in the IPCC reports. Nobody is making this up as they go along.

Intuitively it is not difficult to understand why this may occur. Higher temperatures are due to increasing energy in the climate system. Due to imbalances and changing equilibrium this may show up in extreme weather events.

It is not impossible that the transport of energy though ocean currents around the globe could be disrupted. And that could lead to bitterly cold winters in Western Europe and Eastern Nth America. The extreme and very fanciful scenario in "The Day After Tomorrow" is very unlikely but changes over a longer period are possible.

As to time frames, a useful rule of thumb is that changes over the order of 30 years are climate change. Changes over a few months or years are weather.

is this a fucking joke?

Quote from Gabfly1:

Nothing quite so warms my cocoa as a quorum of ET's resident scientists denying climate change. Who could possibly compete with that kind of horsepower? Certainly not the overwhelming majority of the planet's remaining scientists.

Scientists are deluded morons.

again, i ask, is this a fucking joke? an attempt at humor?

Founder of weather channel said Al Gore should be sued for fraud:D

Algore may claim victory anyway;
planting one[1]tree which needs CO2, lol, slightly does cool a micro climate. LOL:D
