Winter of 2009-2010 Could Be Worst in 25 Years

global warming is about the gradual but definitive RISE in global temp (warming) over long periods of time PUNCTUATED with EXTREME swings in climate changes either way. This ever so brief (in geologic time) "blip" of cold does not negate the theory, but if anything is in keeping with it! duh! :D

What caused the ice ages and their eventual warm up?

The earth has gone through many drastic changes in mean temperature without the help of mankind. This is no different.

Nature is cyclical.
 
I was procrastinating so I clicked on it.

that is an awesome trailer. I forgot how powerful the production values were.

Watching land get flooded. The sub woofer working perfectly on my computer.

It is is just about perfect.

To take a documentary and make it that interesting.... fiction or fact - the people who created and produced that.... deserve the awards they got.

No wonder so many clowns do not care to review the science. We have the patagonia glacier in recession. It must be mans fault.

By the way - it does look prettier now.

By extreme swings you mean extreme highs and extreme lows? I haven't seen that version of the theory in print anywhere. I see warnings of flooding the planet and stock footage of ice melting every other day, though. I'm pretty sure the original theory had sea level rising about 8' by now and taking out most of the coastline in the next 80 years.

What happens if temperature drops again this decade? Just another revision in their theory and then carry on with the save the world from humans campaign?

this "blip" you mention, how much data is required for a "blip" to become a blob, and (here's the tricky part) how much data exists in the current blob.


I'll give you a hint, think "proxy data"

extreme swings in temp are part the theory, the significance of the theory is the gradual increase in GLOBAL temp (not just your cold ass here in US :D

we are taking GEOLOGIC TIME. whether you or i have a cold winter or two is insignificant .. do you see this??? :eek:

ok, here's a more direct question, how big is the blob you're relying on to determine the recent 20 years, (remember these same clowns were predicting another ice-age just 40 years ago), are in anyway remarkable, to say nothing of whether man's contribution of CO2 is causing it.
