Winter is Coming - the COVID chronicles

COVID has at minimum 18 times the CFR and IFR of the seasonal flu.

When I am ill with the flu or a cold then I stay home and do not interact with others. This is both common courtesy and the best practice to stop others from getting sick.
So prior to this year you never went to work while sick? Never went out anywhere for the entire duration of your illness? Liar.

Prove I did.

Keep in mind that "my commuting to work" for the week involves a plane with a trip to another country or state.

P.S. -- in recent years I have rarely been sick.

Doesn't matter. His point is an accurate one. Behavior has changed from COVID vs. the past with cold and flu viruses.

LOL. So somehow you knew the day and exact hour you were contagious at the beginning and end of each illness you've ever had? Wow, that's remarkable. Perhaps you should be consulting with the CDC with this special skill of yours. Given your concern you could have saved us all a bunch of time and trouble had you shared this months ago.

So explain to use why you don't stay home when you feel sick. Why don't you respect others?

I realize you aren't asking me, but I'm going to answer anyway. Its not about respecting others. Some of us suffer big time for staying home because of work responsibility. Staying home means extra work. And if I'm isolated in my office anyway, I choose to work.

Tens of thousands have died every year due to this.
And now such deaths are numbered in the hundreds of thousands. That doesn't give you pause? How much finessing do you need of the numbers? Keeping in mind that while you would like all kinds of nuanced statistics, the people dealing with this pandemic (yes, pandemic) are at the point of exhaustion.

And while you're searching for the detailed statistics you feel you need to have, you may wish to keep in mind that hospitals are being flooded with COVID cases to the point that other people with completely unrelated but serious conditions cannot get treated in a timely manner because everyone is being crowded out. Did I mention there is a pandemic going on?

No it does give me pause because the hundreds of thousands include the tens of thousands which were never counted in years gone by. The actual number of pure Covid deaths is what I'm after. What is that number? An exact figure. I know they have it, why isn't it distributed at least once a week? Then we would know the true mortality risk.

So explain to use why you don't stay home when you feel sick. Why don't you respect others?
So I touched a nerve and you can't explain how you can know your exact date and time of being contagious, now you use the lefty tactic of the old switcheroo. Surprisingly your not a leftist loon, but you're learning the drill. Nice.
Fact is I do stay home when I'm in the heart of a virus that's kicking my ass, but the day or so before and after that I am, or at least in the past, out and about. So have you and everyone else been in the same position.
As a result of Covid I am more likely to stay home in those similar situations, but I'm not going to pretend that I cared all that much in years past.
Save the guilt trip tactics for another, I ain't buying it or your purity tests.
