And this is an area where the Chinese are having to walk a very careful line and are playing with fire. The reason Japan- for example- is dependent on the U.S is because their military power is limited by treaty with the U.S. in exchange for U.S protection. It was of course an outcome of WW2 where the the Japanese had a certain interest in going to war and bad blood with the Chinese is always there to flair up.

However, the Japanese are properly asserting that Kim is lobbing missiles into their waters and the U.S is not protecting them- which of course infuriates the nationalists in Japan and is also a valid complaint against the U.S. In return, Trump is giving them more weapons, offensive weapons included. China is having its usual fun and games supporting Chubby in the background but it is not a risk-free lunch. The last thing they want to see is more fully armed and more fully free of Washington Japan and some of that is clearly going on already.

Australia is arming itself up to the gills as well. Huge jump in military spending. F-35's, Boeing P-8 Poseidon and very capable attack submarines specifically.

Taiwan is lobbying DC heavily for F-35. They have seen the reports from the Aussie pilots participating in Red Flag and they want it bad.

Vietnam is pursuing greater ties with the US - they have invited the US fleet to Cam Ranh Bay and have purchased US patrol boats. Last year Vietnam and the US fleet conducted joint training exercises.

Indeed and an important message to Kim lies within some of these events.

Yes, it is true that he needs to watch out for the Libyan Model so to speak.

But the U.S is also telling him some things that are actually the truth...ie. the United States does have a history of rising above past conflicts and creating friends out of enemies where possible. Vietnam, Germany, Japan would be clear examples.

Now I realize that I just said something positive about the U.S and that will cause the North Korean cheerleading squad here to rise and do their thing. That's fine.

Only delusional people would blame the Koreans here.

This is what happened:
America talking to everyone else: "Hey, if Korea doesn't play nice with me, I'll just murder him like I did with my other neighbor, Libya."
Korea to America: "I heard what you were talking about, go f*ck yourself."
America to Korea: "I don't think we can't be friends with this awful attitude coming from you."

And the world blames Korea...

Trump keeps bullying others and thus far most other countries are trying to manage him. Korea is just saying how it is without bending over.

Completely wrong.

Now for the correct answer.

America and Little Rocket Man were headed down a good path. Then LRM was summoned to China for another visit to tone down the getting too chummy with the south koreans and the americans bit. With China promising all sorts of stuff and protection if he played ball with them.

Suddenly, LRM (who was the one who requested the summit in the first place) started playing games with whether he was running hot or cold to began to bring his actions in to line with what was discussed in China. No question whatsoever that LRM came back from his second trip to China as a changed man. Trump let him know that that dog don't hunt. If he is taking orders from China then go do that. Meanwhile, sanctions and military planning continue.

Sorry if this gets in the way of your blaming and hating Trump, but you will not run out of ways anytime soon. It is the only thing your ilk does.

National holiday coming up though, so big hug for you.

Didn’t that whole Ghaddafi murder thing and Libyan insurrection happen under the tutelage of Hillary’s State Dept and the Obama Administration?

Gasp - are you suggesting congruity between parties and administrations regarding foreign despots and repressive totalitarian regimes ?

Both parties are guilty but Trump has been provoking a lot of allies and enemies as of late as I'm sure you're aware.

I'm also talking about the current situation exclusively. Obviously North Korea is a backwards regime and Kim is a psychopath but that doesn't change the facts.

This was very deliberate by Bolton, Trump and co. They didn't want peace in the first place, so to keep the status quo they started with covert threats and obviously, North Korea will not unconditionally surrender at this stage.

For most people in the US, they will side with the government in any case because the only thing they are capable of understanding is "North Korea - bad".

And to be fair - if the Mullahs in Iran or the Thug in Korea orchestrate national rallies featuring placards of nuclear bombs falling on Washington DC (over a period of decades regardless of administration) that would indeed amplify and unite the sentiment you so capably described.

Other way round.

Lefty propaganda has led the public to believe that there are no bad actors in the world who do bad things. Everything is caused by bad America.

Your coming along right on schedule to try to convince us that Kim is the good guy and Trump is the root cause of all problems with North Korea now would be a clear example of that.

What country are you from? You sound like someone who hates not only America but your own country of origin.
