Winning, Losing & BetSize trading the ES

I am exiting with a market order on each side manually. So should I exit with join bid or join ask?..man that would be a lot easier...

this is not 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 tick trading..this is take what you can get!

Are you experimenting with market orders or buy offer/sell bid?

If you were exiting with a market order or buy offer/sell bid as well then your results will be closer to reality.

Does the platform have buy offer & sell bid? That is better than buy or sell market.

If you are entering and exiting with market orders on sim then the results you are getting should be pretty close to live trading, again minus the emotional factor.

There will be times when the bids & offers are pulled or when some one blows through them and your market order wont be what you were hoping for, i.e the bid/offer that you saw when you entered.

I hit the wrong button and sold more instead of exiting at market and got myself in deep s&*t but managed my way out...sometimes you just gotta exit some orders at BE or even a loss...

I hope that some of you new traders are gaining some insight to scalping the ES and some of the experienced are refreshing with trading principals to reinforce their trading from this thread. I thank you for keeping it civil and helpful for all.

I apologize in advance for not revealing my methods in detail. But I have invested hundreds of hours now in building this system and it is completely different now. I feel it is proprietary but I got the ideas from the members here in other threads and here.

If I could give some advice...do not discount indicators altogether. MA's are extremely powerful and you can scalp just off of them...Also read the threads in ET for the last two months...you have all you need to scalp the ES profitably if you are hungry. If you do not have capital to trade...then contact some sponsors here.

Folks do not despair...I have been banned several times over the last 1½ decades. I would of banned myself when I was a moderator...lol. I got to say Baron is one of the most incredible people I know of. (don't tell him ok?)

Excellent that you are doing well...

Practice is most important. Many people will back-test, but for scalping, practice is the key.

Every Sunday morning, I load the most difficult trading day(s) "for me." I see so much tape that I have no memory of a difficult day, from last month or last year.. I review 1 minute charts and look for fast choppy action.

Run the day and try to survive it. +B/E

Think about how much practice your favorite professional athlete does.. It's the same for us

As Mark stated, make sure your Order Entry is accurate... I have my simulation set to run through the entire quantity at that depth... This may noT work for you, as you are playing close to the spread and may get filled with good locations in the Que!!!


How many trend days per month... Someone with a longer-term style can give an exact, but for me,, I'm expecting 2 days out of 18 to run...

When using Pledge spray the cloth not the surface.

I was actually hoping to get stopped out with the DLL (daily loss limit) to break some bad habits.

I had an MAE of 18 ticks in which the market never gave me a chance out. I ended up carrying 6 contracts because I "ADDED TO" every 2 ticks on the way up. There was some air on the way up (no I do not use time candles) so I did not "ADD TO" perfectly...but anyways I stopped at 6 contracts as each tick was valued at too much as it went against me. I must tighten up my trading.

NEW RULES FOR DAY SESSION: Build up to a max of no more than 5 contracts. Entries limited to a buffer of 3 ticks from signal price, just do not enter if missed. "ADD TO's" limited to 3 ticks per adverse excursion maxing at 5 contracts. New DLL= $750.00.

The new rules are static as I trade the sim the next two weeks. I am going to start using the DOM more and experiment with "ADD TO's" at ledges instead of static 3 ticks...but the ledges must be 3 tick minimum...sometime they will give me 4 or 5 ticks which is a "good thing" as I want to slow my "ADDING TO"..

Mark Brown promised to coach me on the use of an oscillator but I told him to wait as I want to try this for a few more days.

This support makes me confident. I will stumble on to something real good as the experienced traders in here are letting me make mistakes as they know for me to truly learn is to fall first.
