Windows 7, Intel i7 Chip Combo

Just bought this laptop a couple of months ago and it's been great. And it's on sale now for $999, which is what I paid for it too. http://www.frys.com/product/6282180

I upgraded the OS to Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. And I'm using a 500 GB 7200 RPM hard drive. And since I'm using my own hard drive I'm avoiding all the HP bloatware on the original drive. :)

I actually did the same, pricing out a system at both websites and came to the same conclusion.

Cyberpowerpc definitely is a money saver but have you actually bought a system from them? I've heard a lot of negative reviews regarding quality of their build, customer service, etc, etc.

Yes that is a great price for all those components. BCE represents my initials, although they did retroactively come up with Before the Common Era in honor of me. :)
 
I bought a computer from CyberPowerPc several years ago. I had nothing but trouble from the start. They promised the computer in 7-10 days, but it wasn't delivered for over 3 weeks. When I had a problem with it, I was put on hold repeatedly and passed along from one person to another. It took several days and numerous calls to get it fixed. Maybe my bad experience is an isolated incident, but I would never do business with them again.

I paid a $600 premium for my last computer from Puget. Since I typically keep a computer for about three years, I'm paying about 55 cents a day extra to have super reliable trading machines backed up by great customer service. For me, it's worth it because computer problems mean time away from trading and/or time away from my wife and kids. Everybody has to make his own price/value decision.

There's another site with similar prices to CyberpowerPC.com... that's ibuypower.com. In fact, they have a special which ends at midnight tonight... $1139.. X58 mobo, i7, 950, 6GB RAM with boot SSD and 1T data drive. Looks like good value.

Of course there is always the Dell Outlet T3500 w/W3530 CPU for $799.
