Windows 10 - Awful Performance and UX - spin spin spin...

Why does it suck so much? Maybe it's the user? I have no major problems after turning off most of the crappy features initially.

Because it SUUUX! lol!

Granted, I have not tried it with the Win 7 shell. I think it would be tolerable that way. So long as I can tweak the registry like Win 7 I will be fine. But I will rue the day I am forced to try to upgrade my trading machine. Grrr.

It may not happen. I think google has planted saboteurs in Microsoft that are pissing people off on purpose to drive away customers. Probably everyone is going to move to linux or maybe google will come out with an improved "pro" version of chrome OS that isn't a neutered bitch.

My point is, vendors are probably going to start making linux versions of their software more and more.

Or they may switch to web-only stuff...oh quit screaming...its not that bad.

It is great for home users and amateurs like yourself. You could put lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig. We call it bloatware. Turn off all it's features and it behaves similar to w7. Some idiots out there are willing to pay extra for that...

So like I said, it's the user. I turn off most of the bloatware and it works reasonably well. Who said anything about paying "extra"?

And the guy who has never even used Ubuntu calls me an amateur...

Hey Mr Amature, if the shoe fits, you should change your handle. I've been in IT industry since graduating. Never seen open source inside the firewall. Do you know what open source means? I see you don't know what bloatware means either.

Did you graduate last year? Open source is everywhere in large organizations. You must've worked for some backwaters city hall which buys everything from Microsoft/Oracle.

Windows 7 is probably the most recent windows I will ever use.

I guess that means you will be comfortable sticking with Windows 7 after Microsoft ends support for it.

I may do likewise.

On the next new computer i will probably test something else.

lol they're using windows 7 inside firewall. They most likely don't allow you inside and you don't even know it. Try to view pics or play music inside their network and see happens. MS is putting together a pro win 10 without all the home user experience.
