Are you using Windows Defender? I wonder if it's doing some drive scan or something at boot time....??

I have windows defender installed.
 
I believe LTS comes out every 4 years and every two years the version is called Short Term Support... ? Oh, my bad. I don't know why I thought that. I started with 12.04 then upgraded to 16.04 and was waiting for 20.04 and now that I know 18 and all other even years is an LTS release year, I guess I will still just wait for 20.04 to upgrade. I will have a new computer or two by then anyway.

Ubuntu LTS release every two years. In between are short term support versions, issued every six months.
