Window 7 computers automatically starting the W10 update without permission

Rather than have a whinge about something new, ask for assistance in YOUR environment about how best to handle current versions of software.

Underneath the hood, Windows 10 has a stack of improvements. Will this affect your environment much? Probably not. Will you have to deal with it? Yes.

So stop ranting - get over "that things change" and move forward.

If you want to whinge about change, talk to the Chicago pit traders and meet them at the dive bar where they drown their sorrows about change.

PS - Early pros have VMs. Ultra Pros have people that create VMs for them to test the "new world".

Exactly. If Coca-Cola decides to put soap into their drinks, just drink your soapwater and accept the change. Soapwater makes you sick? Stop whining, soap is good for cleanliness.

As long as you don't have issues with it, I would just leave it alone after installing Classic Shell and setting up Privacy correctly into reporting mode. It is supposed to be running faster on new machines than 7, so if your programs all run on it, you are golden.

I have a small netbook and it updated from 10 to 10, at least that is what I think because there was a 5 GB update. :)

Not really, based on the tests I read it runs faster in some applications and slower in others - altogether about the same.

If you've suffered this Win10 intrusion, how hard is it to go back to Win7...or has it completely overwritten everything(making this impossible).

This is why I manually update Windows. I just excluded this update from the list and no problems.
