SIPC is too big to fail. Imagine what runs on brokerages would look like, we are talking about daily market crashes and total panic

What about Madoff? $100,000 insured on each account was absolutely nothing, I doubt there was even a single account under $1,000,000

Yeah what Daal said, the SIPC is surely too big to fail.

The FDIC has already, in effect, failed but we bailed it out. Surely we will have to do the same thing for the SIPC too. And, and, and.....

It's not clear if they will receive $100k (cash), or $500k (securities).
