Will the HFT algorithms and AI based trading software be available to retail traders ?

There are a myriad of ways to get size done in honest and ethical ways. How would you like it if someone burned your house down and later one excused his actions that he is sorry but he had to make space to enjoy the unobstructed view of the city. The definition of freedom is to do whatever one wants as long as it does not infringe on others' freedom and rights.

I agree with you on above. However, I want to point out that as far as games being played in the books, and all the special order types, all this is because large participants need to hide their activity as to not move the market. I think that's what @raVar means - spoofing as a part of execution strategy, not as preditory alpha generation.

I have often wondered when the dom is really bouncing around in the MNQ then it just sits on a price...are the HFT's spoofing in the background with each other causing this momentary stall?

I don't think the book is worth anything In the micros. There are market makers and arbs in the background that are making sure MNQ trades with NQ, which is why you see discontinuous behavior in MNQ.

If you want to trade the book...use NQs book, than execute on MNQ. MNQ doesn't move on it's own

Ok...then my same question in the NQ (the price stalls there too)

What do you mean by stall? If there is buying/selling pressure pushing price one way, eventually it will equalize when the other side of the market becomes more attractive. That has nothing to do with hft.

When the battle takes place there must be more spoofing going on during those times.

Probably, but does it matter? To me, it doesn't, and I trade faster than most. I digest and react to every single trade and book event. The spoofing, if it exists, is noise

How do you define a battle? You see trades bounce off bid and ask but bid and ask stay in place? Iceberg orders (or equivalent) can create this situation, for example.

No icebergs in NQ. Just people/algorithms with their finger on the trigger

Everyone is not as great as you...sorry for wondering...

Have a nice day.

I imagined that there was a battle happening in the background when the price was not moving...as there was a lot going on in the ladder without movement being triggered.

Be nice now...or I can place you on ignore and blocking too! I do not like arrogant SOB's
