Diddy has claimed that Will Smith and Chris Rock already settled their bitter feud hours after the shocking slap at the Oscars 2022.
Hollywood is still reeling after the events at last night’s 94th Academy Awards, where
Smith, 53, stormed on stage and hit Rock, 57, across the face while furious over the comedian’s joke about his wife
Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair.
However, hip hop mogul Diddy has claimed the actors are already past the incident and agreed to move on from it shortly after the awards ceremony.
According
to Page Six, he said at the Vanity Fair afterparty: ‘That’s not a problem. That’s over. I can confirm that.
‘It’s all love. They’re brothers.’
The Los Angeles Police Department has since
confirmed that Rock will not be pressing charges against Smith.
A spokesperson told the PA news agency: ‘LAPD investigative entities are aware of an incident between two individuals during the Academy Awards programme.
‘The incident involved one individual slapping another. The individual involved has declined to file a police report.
‘If the involved party desires a police report at a later date, LAPD will be available to complete an investigative report.’
It all kicked off when Rock stepped on stage to present the award for best documentary, and led with his trademark raucous jokes.
Taking aim at Jada, 50, the Everybody Hates Chris creator referred to the actress as ‘G.I. Jane’ in reference to her buzzcut.
However, it’s well known that Jada suffers from hair loss condition alopecia, and it’s believed this is what left Smith irate.
After slapping Rock across the face, Smith stormed back to his seat and shouted from the audience: ‘Keep my wife’s name out of your f***ing mouth.’
Rock has been praised for his calm demeanour despite the attack and continued on with presenting the documentary award like a professional.
Smith went on to win the coveted best actor Oscar later in the ceremony and was seen partying at the Vanity Fair afterparty with wife Jada by his side and children Tre, Jaden and Willow.
