Is it possible your information is "contaminated." Have you considered that the Russian Army, under Putin, has made disinformation their weapon of choice? In this age of the internet, we all must be on guard against disinformation.

It really doesn't matter if he is working off "contaminated" information. Considering your neighbors "Nazis" (whatever that means) is not a valid justification for invading them. Period. End of story. Don't feed the troll.

But since he owns 90% or more of the media and dictates exactly what they should publish, it's extremely easy to control the Russian population. Especially when the vast majority of Russians are monolingual, so even if they wanted alternative sources, they couldn't get it without difficulty.

The big difference is that US media is much more independant than the Russian media that is controlled for 100% by Putin.
Every day on Russian TV you see fake news how bad EU and US are and how good Russia is. If you try to debunk that in Russia, you end up, in best case, in jail. The other option is death.
In the US there is still much more freedom of speech and less daily 24/7 propaganda. You clearly were never in Russia.
Putin eliminates all people that threaten his position. People get killed, poisoned or put in jail for lifetime. Watch the fake trials with Navalny and his close colleagues and the eliminations abroad of Russians who attack Putin.
