trading is not about knowing where market will go (nobody knows), its about predicting correctly most of the times (i.e determining higher probabilities of where it will go) - that surely can be and should be done if one to trade successfully
Success most days but sometimes does the opposite.

If at night the Nikkei rose strongly, because Europe in the morning has fallen hard?
USA has risen strongly.
Like the Nikkei.
