Minor point, but it didn't quite happen this way. Neil Young put out a statement and told his managers that Spotify had to remove Rogan or he would leave. Bottom line, he said it was either Young or Rogan. Spotify chose Rogan and immediately started removing all of Neil Young's material from their service.

Neil Young makes less than $10K per year from Spotify royalties. SPOT is pot-committed to their horrible Rogan deal. They paid $110M to own the show and it has not translated into paid subs to SPOT. It was a laughable deal but with SPOT's capitalization it's couch money.

Obv they had to choose Rogan.

I never heard of a Joe Rogan until Aaron Rodgers was caught lying about his vaccination status incident.

Then I looked him up and I recognize the face...the UFC promoter or something like that.

Great, two more Covidiots identified / giving Covid advice along with health advice while both (Rogan and Rodgers) have no academic background nor formal employment in Infectious Diseases, Immunology, Vaccinology but I'm sure they've dissected frogs in high school biology class.

In contrast, I've heard about Neil Young when I was in graduate school (early 90s) from a girl in college that loves his music but I do remember her saying the guy was very old...back in the 90s.

Regardless, Spotify did eventually update their terms of use policy because Young brought awareness to the misinformation/disinformation being used on their platform and Rogan publicly stated he regretted what has happened.

Then boom...Spotify either removed Rogan's podcasts or Rogan took them down himself.

In the meantime, Young is now making a ton more money after moving from Spotify to SiriusXM including other music artists doing the same...hilarious.

You just don't get what a slippery slope you are advocating. So you want posts removed, maybe people banned, because they say things you disagree with, things you don't like. Things that in your mind rise to the level of dangerous misinformation.

I mean it's only fair that you're not the sole arbiter of truth, because just about everyone feels the same way about their grasp of facts, their grasp of what Colbert calls "truthiness". Maybe it's better to be very reluctant to impose censorship — which may not always fall the way you want it to — and let adults consider the sources, the logic of the arguments, and make their own judgments about various commentary.

This is why I keep coming to this place. My sincerest congratulations.

That chart tells alot about the IQ levels in the US.

But why wonder? If an (ex) president proposes to inject chemicals directly in peoples lungs to heal people from Covid. And at the same time say Covid is just like the flue.

The thread starter point is that there's already existing censorship but why is it not being uniformly applied to all areas of the forum ???

• Censorship occurs via permanent bans, temporary bans, message post deletion, and threads closed.

That in itself implies there is a bias...depending upon what side of the bed the moderator woke up on and it's evident in the current TOU policy that has not changed since the Pandemic while other social media platforms made changes to their TOU policy because of new issues involving misinformation/disinformation in this Pandemic.

Seriously, go post racist message posts anywhere at the forum, post anti-vaccine rhetoric in your trade journal, threaten to cause harm to other members, argue with a moderator because you don't think they're doing their job properly, and many other things...
