He lost no rights to speak and it's not a radical idea for a Christian to think homosexuality is a sin and is in the same category with bestiality. This kind of ignorance and delusion is common among them and is to be expected. But when such ignorance and bigotry rears it's head, it's proper for the more educated, tolerant and non-bigoted people in the country to smack it back down into the pit of excrement from which it comes.

Did he get arrested? No. Was he allowed to say what he wanted without being thrown in a jail cell? Yes. I just don't see how his free speech was violated. A&E has sponsors who pay the bill, Duck Dynasty might bring in the ratings but A&E have to answer to their sponsors. You can't be working at Mcd's or Macy's or The Post Office and expect to be able to speak your mind like that without the chance of being let go. TV/media is his workplace, the guy is an adult and he should have known better period. If they fired him for speaking his mind the way he did, then so be it. I'm not saying he is right or wrong, but this is not a violation of his free speech IMO. Next time you get stopped by a cop, tell him to go F**k himself and see what happens...hahaha
This just keeps getting better. Apparently Cracker Barrel dropped Duck merchandise, but had to swiftly reverse course when they faced a potential boycott. You have to love the concluding paragraphs from the LA Times article though. After noting that A&E has $400mill a year in DD mechandise licensing and that the Robertsons make $200k an episode, they note:
"So, his appearance notwithstanding, no one should assume that Phil Robertson doesn't know corporate. He just moseyed straight to the business-affairs department and ignored the boring PR part.
And now A&E is learning what it means when your business partner does that."
The traumas of network execs worried about offending the gay lobby or retailers worried about boycotts from the Duckies is an amusing side show, but we are left with the central question: Is quoting the Bible now officially hate speech in PC America?
