Question: What are your thoughts on minimum wage in general? Opponents say that it is merely the privatizing of welfare, by forcing companies to pay their lowest earners more.

This automation fear is not a reality... I'm sure they said the same thing when the wheel .... capitalism increases the standard of living and puts a downward pressure on price

Min wage creates unemployment to those who need the employment the most

Nobody is arguing over a flawless system. The aim is to find a way to smooth out the discontent in the world that's been there for the last 6-7 years without resorting to a larger state with less economic freedoms for those that do want to work hard.

If you want to see what gov't interventions - taken to the max - produce, look at Venezuela. If you think capitalism produces inequality, look at socialism.

I think i was pretty clear, i am advocating capitalism... but it is being threatened at the moment as people feel they are being cut adrift. We either figure out a way for the disillusioned to feel included or we risk losing the freedoms we enjoy. Any suggestions?

Capitalism is about equal opportunities not equal wealth or income.

I'm on the planet Earth and there's no such thing as equality anyway but if you're talking about it on a grading scale capitalism creates the most equal opportunity system of any system
