Wife hung fake Picasso after taking real thing amid contentious divorce

Really? Like who? I can't come up with a single person who was a complete failure as husband and father yet lived an exemplary lifestyle with lasting (positive) impact on others. Sure, if you reduce life and happiness and being an exemplary role model in society to one's bank account then I would agree with you. But such would be extremely simplistic and short sighted.

That is NOT true. Plenty of people, men AND women have/had a mess of or empty family/personal affairs and had done great wonders for mankind. How good and balanced a person's family/personal affairs or lack thereof is NOT a good barometer of the quality of that person's career/professional/public contribution. Everybody is different.

Does not sound like she forged anything. It sounds more like one of her hobbies was painting.

Why doesn't she paint her own original works? That is what people who paint does, no? Copying other people's work is forging, whether it's for profit or not.

Well, that speaks only for your ethical and moral values not for the ones of society at large and hence it is quite irrelevant to this topic

Society at large elected Trump President, Pence Vice President, elected a 51 to 47 seat majority Republican in the Senate, 246 to 187 Republican in the House, gave them enough votes to put a conservative member on the Supreme court, gave Republicans 33 out of 50 state governorships, 32 Republican to 13 full control of state legislatures ... I mean, I'm no Republican, and I don't believe Trump is either, but .. I'd say my opinion of those tax reforms might not be so hard to find in "society at large" as you call it.

I said "done wonders for mankind". You are the one who's reducing it to "one's bank account". Who said anything about leading an "exemplary role model?" Goody 2 shoes are not always winners.

Really? Like musicians never cover original songs? Perhaps you are a little shortsighted? Also your definition of "forging" is incorrect

Why doesn't she paint her own original works? That is what people who paint does, no? Copying other people's work is forging, whether it's for profit or not.

A majority of Americans voted against Trump if I might remind you. Even less of those who voted for Trump would vote for him today. And with society at large I was not referring to the American conscience or soul but at ethical and moral values in general. That there are many who trample on those values for self gain I am fully aware of.

You are changing topics. We talked about the claim that someone who displays a poor lifestyle in private will hardly ever be a high achiever in life, and vice versa (as defined as not just by a bank account). That was what you disagreed with. I did not talk about "wonders for mankind" whatever you may mean with that. I talked about an upstanding ethical and moral life style whether at home or at work. If you do not have an opinion on that then you can simply jump over my post.

Remember how Elon Musk was lauded as the next human super star? Entire books and biographies were written about him. Turns out he does not seem that much of a super human after all, did you listen into his latest analyst call? Did you follow his tirades on everything and everyone who disagrees with him? After all analysts and investors slowly start to get a grasp that Tesla after all hardly possess any edge at all. Extremely poor overall manufacturing quality and design. Tesla has no edge on batteries nor on the electric engines and drive train. Just one example where many claimed an egotistical and extremely selfish human being can be the next "wonder for mankind". When I talk role models I talk about the likes of M. El-Erian, a guy I could imagine to invest any sum of money knowing he would not blow it away on some temporary mental block or anger outburst. I can't say the same about Bill Gross at all. Personal character very much correlates with work attitude and performance.
