very good point... even if one does, it will undergo tons of scrutiny subsequently effecting your confidence and ruining your system... on a different level, the person who just takes your theory and trades off of it prolly will not get as much out of it as you... since you understand why and how the stocks, markets options etc. are reacting and acting the way they do... as opposed to the trader who simply follows just knows when to get in out... and etc... kind of like if you feed someone lines on the fon to open an accnt, will not be as effective if youre on the fon yourself pitching... follow? i do not think i made that too clear lol... im still recovering from that rip in the morning and i cannot articulate my thoughts properly...

Absolutely. Another important point: researching and developing trading systems are activities that are on the books. The details should be viewed as trade secret information - unless its worthless. There are some useful bits of information that crop up on this board occasionally, but a fully researched and working system should never appear posted on a public forum. Take the tips posted here for what they are: ideas, that may lead you a fully developed methodology.
absolutely - it's challenging because in some situations, the obvious is the 'right' move, in others the obvious is the 'wrong' move...
i have read lots of books with people's strategies. and while they're all good for the authors, and i know people who can successfully use them, they didn't work for *me*. my own self-discipline didn't work with them.
so that's why i think giving most of the general information on a system really doesn't matter...the system is only part of the battle. the rest is mental comfort / security..

There's truly little fear that a method you post on here will be taken up by anyone. Why? For the same reason that the best place to hide a tree is in a forest.
If you were to say that, or even something much more modest, a ton of "bickering fools" on here would be all over you like flies to tell you you were full of sh*t. Look how they attacked mrmarket for making what I consider rather modest claims of what was it 15% per month? Geezeleweeze, I made over 50% in the last two months with my simpleheaded approach which I lay out in the open with nothing concealed. So why did he take such flack for claiming a silly 15% a month?
If I had developed what I considered a winning system I wouldn't hesitate to post it here to test it. The best way I have found to test a system is to try and prove it doesn't work and you would get lots of help here doing that.
If the system does work how many here have the disipline to stick to it. Have anyone start a system with two or three losing trades and they usually abandon it. (The famous turtles were so named because a good percentage of them didn't have the disipline to follow the system and they were not playing with their own money.)
Human emotion has the biggest bearing on whether a system will work than most the other factors. Most can't follow a system if it involves being wrong, taking losses and waiting for the perfect set-up. Fear and greed make the market move. You can't teach disipline over the internet.
