Quote from ChkitOut:
Serious question.
Record deficit, record unemployment, no improvement.
Why?
Nothing mindless about it. As bad as things are, Romney's policies (so far) will make them worse. He can't cut FTEs and improve America Inc.'s bottom line, because laid off workers don't "go away" in an economy. He can't sharply cut government spending without pushing us back into recession (a fact both parties finally understand). He could gradually reduce the rate of government spending, but then that's what Obama is doing. He wants to cut taxes on, as you love to point out, the group that pays the most taxes, but he wants to maintain spending on the military, or increase it, which is a big slice of the pie, so deficit growth looks inevitable. And to think that the job creators are not creating jobs because they're short on cash is laughable on the evidence. So we come to demand, which even our libertarian posters here admit is what's holding back the recovery, but analysis of Romney's (not really his) plan indicates that his middle class taxes will rise. So we come to regulations. Well, it's true, Obama has done a lot of regulation making (and enforcing). Where? Primarily food and pharma safety.Quote from Max E. Pad:
There really is no reason, the only people still left cheering for Obama are the mindless liberal zombies who would pull the lever for anything with a "D" behind the name.
Quote from Eight:
they vote with their feelings and they don't like numbers. Very many voters aren't reasoning beasts very much at all... Obama will pump them up so they feel good... Republicans COULD adopt strategies to appeal to those kinds of voters but they aren't smart enough so far.
