I think the subject itself brings out no venom.
The venom comes when someone is attacked for their belief systems.
Going back a long way, the ET atheists have consistently tried to attack and marginalize the belief systems of theists, and I really don't understand why.
If they are happy and content in their own religion of atheism, why the need to attack others in their religion?
It is a mystery to me. I can only think that they have unresolved issues from their own childhood about religion, and have not yet come to terms with it and moved on. Seems to me that they are holding resentments from a long time ago.
I can fully understand taking issue with organized religion, as I often take issue with organized religion and its impact on the political process, but personal faith? To me, that is a different matter entirely. Personal faith is just that, personal.
Yet the resident ET atheists somehow have a need to attack and try to belittle the personal faith of others.
I simply don't get it.
I don't know if it is envy, jealousy, a need to feel superior, etc., but it is consistent.
Maybe they need to try to make theists wrong to make themselves right, I don't know.

Why does the subject of God...bring up such venom?
What are people afraid of? both sides?
