Why won't gay people accept democracy ?

It's amazing how popular fag related threads are.
Another insightful, well researched and deeply felt pronouncement from the warden of ET's correct posting protocol, bravo, there you go man, thanks! :p

(next time, when you're in a hurry, try cutting and pasting something smart and worth reading instead...) :)

I have a lot of respect for George - and his father Robert, who is a widely respected Orthodox priest in NYC.

Quote from ZZZzzzzzzz:

I doubt that when Gay marriage was temporarily legalized, that the gays thought seriously that the homophobia in California would suddenly vanish just because it was legal for gays to marry.

What they thought, was that in the eyes of the law, that they were normal. The scales of justice are blind for a reason, they are supposed to be free of the prejudice that comes only from judgment with reason and fact as the determinate factor.

That is what the gays want, and they know, just like blacks know, racism is not going away in a generation or two, and neither is homophobia. It takes a long time, but acknowledgement that prohibition of gay marriage fundamentally goes against the spirit of equal opportunity under the law puts them on an equal status under the law, and under their church of choice that supports gay marriage.

Gays want to be married and have the same rights as heteros.

What is so hard to understand about that?

They know that most people are not suddenly going to turn gay.

It really comes down to human rights, the basic right of a government not to allow religious bias of the majority religion usurp the principle that human rights are given by God, not by any particular religion or church, and marriage of a partner is a fundamental choice within that freedom, gay or straight.

If God chooses to send them to hell, that is God's job, not the public who sit in judgment that gays are going to hell and are going to pass laws to keep them from going to hell.

Let them marry and have or not have children.

We have so many problems that are so much more important to solve than who married whom...

So do trios. Don't trios have the same right to the word marriage as gays? What a bunch of crap.

Gays have the have the same rights

homophobia - what a bunch of b.s. Yeah everyone who is against gay marriage is a afraid of gays.

I know people who are against marriage who have siblings who are gay. Your family is against gay marriage, right?

I have no problem with trios.

I have no problem with some sheik in Saudi Arabia with 100's of wives.

None of my business.

Why the Christian right thinks it is any of their business is beyond me...

The christian right is not making gay marriage their business. The gays and activist judges are making gay marriage their business.

Leave normal people alone. Exactly.
