Not sure that's any comfort to the guy who was attacked and his family.
I'm guessing that a lot of us, if we had been in that train car, would have jumped in to rescue that kid, who apparently had been a gay activist at American University. The problem is, we would have found ourselves doing it solo unless some tourists had been on board.
One can always find a reason to be aggrieved if they go looking.

Getting beaten and stabbed 30-40 times is a pretty good reason for family members to get upset. Or perhaps you think they're overreacting?
