Again, please answer the big question. There are somewhere around 330 million firearms already in civilian possession in the United States. 42 percent of US households own a firearm.
Are you willing to physically go door to door in order to confiscate the 200 million or so firearms that do not meet your criteria already in legal ownership by law abiding citizens or are you going to grandfather them in ? Don't bring up buyback because that won't work here except for fencing operations and there's serious research out there now that questions the effectiveness (in terms of the percentage of civilian-owned firearms taken out of public circulation) of the Australian program.
