Why we lose money?

Take a look at your history.
What is the reason behind most of your loses?
Have stopped it or you're still losing due to the same reason?

My major mistake has been taking small profits. Doing this is not good for long term money management. One should aim for, and take big profits. Losses will otherwise eat a slow growing account.

I have a question for you:
If you’d a have bird at home, and the bird would eat like a bird does, but the bird would poop like an elephant does, what would you do ???

The above post is addressed to OP. For those who want to be sarcastic, it is fine with me. I would like to tell them that over a period of time, I just needed to tweak my system to improve the outcome. These guys apparently don't know how to build a trading system and make it work.

As for me, I thought that everything was simple and did not study enough, after I developed my own strategies, the results became better.

I do apologize if my post came across as sarcastic, sarcasm wasn’t my intention at all.

I also wasn’t posing the question directly to you (@sridhga), my intention was to post it to other posters earlier in the thread, however after I clicked the reply button, I forgot to delete the [QUOTE="sridhga, post: 5843152, . . . [/QUOTE] so I do understand where you're coming from. I'm sorry.

There is a saying between traders that goes : “Eat like a bird, poop like an elephant.”, and that’s why I posted the message to remind this adage to others. Unfortunately, it come out the wrong way, and I do reassure you that there was no sarcastic intention. I’m sorry. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

To be very honest, I am humbled by this post. Being simple and modest has become so uncommon on ET. Before posting my earlier reply where I was harsh on the two fellow members of this forum, I was watching a religious TV program which nudged viewers to be polite in conversation with others. Despite this, I wrote my earlier post, in a rather harsh manner, because, I was tuned to be tough on this forum. God has sent me a message through the above post. My apologies to you too.

Why do you lose money? It’s a zero-sum game, money gets transferred from
the accounts of the many to the few.
%%
NOT true of the stock market.

I'm not blaming that ETF=LOL just an answer to question:caution::caution:

Lol,

1. If you are careless, you will lose money

2. If you are unlucky, you will lose money

3. If you are lucky but have high transaction costs, you will lose money

4. if you are lucky, but careless with execution, you will lose money.

6. if you are lucky and still miss your big winner, you will lose money

7. If you are lucky, i can still name 100 other reasons where you will lose money regardless.

9. Damn, in this game you need not only to be lucky but also well prepared, have a plan and still, you need every star to align perfectly in your favour to be able to make any money in rhe long term.

Good luck.
Well, first thank you for the reply and second... Don't you think that you gave "luck" a lot of credit?
