Why was the market so slow today?

it's also interesting to note that as volume dies on stocks-they start moving on ANY news. i mean-what use moves by upgrades\downgrades from big firms,press releases,earnings now can go up or down significantly based on some random article from seeking alpha or motley fool :)
 
I would take slow any day of the week over being in my current GCj3 position and unable to close due to Globex being out.
