There seems to be an abundance of these threads nowadays. Makes me feel that people have become too mercenary in relationships. To those of you who will go through life being completely self obsessed, I hope you have a good retirement home lined up.
Yes true love does exist in my case. I am 37, got married at 25 while in grad school. She supported me for an additional year. I was on a stipend with tuition paid but wasn't exactly living the high life.
Fast forward 12 years. Am married with 2 kids. I am still in love with her. In hindsight it was more intense before but is warmer now. Its a pleasure to partner with her to raise our kids and watch them grow. Brings a smile to my face at the end of a day on a job well done. There is nothing like having a partner who loves you and also to see your own reflection in your kids.
IMO apart from love, it is really important to have common aspirations. I look forward to growing old with her. It has always been us as a team vs everyone else. Good girls and good movies get booked in advance so make sure you don't miss an opportunity. Also I am South Asian, so does that skew the pool that was available to me?

Wifey and I met each other while she was on vacation in California. She is from Sweden. We knew each other for two weeks and fell in love and made our wedding plans. She went back to Sweden and I joined her after four months and we got married in Sweden.
