what's the point? other than showing off your attention span.
Be nice if you justified your opinion showing us why holding QQQ was wrong.
It has done quite well since the recovery started back in the spring of 2009.
Personally I'd like to see an exit strategy to avoid the next down turn.
The question was why do traders lose, not how to be a conservative investor.

that's the problem with buy and hold anything
buy and hold its not a strategy or method its a simple approach (for simpletons
) based on the hope that the bull market in relevant time periods will outlive the investor (or his need to withdraw the money)

Traders lose by trading. They are their own worst enemy.
Buy and Hold is a long term trend following strategy with no risk control.bingo !
