Why This Computer Scientist Says All Cryptocurrency Should “Die in a Fire”

Now they still think there can be another new (8th I think) ATH, but again, that has nothing to do with technology.

There will be an 8th, 9th, 10t... 100th ATH

Bitcoin will keep going up forever, Laura. Forever!!

I'm not following your logic. How exactly is buying something (anything actually, not just crypto) that you think is going to appreciate in value at a later time being greedy?

It is very simple. If you think an investment will go up because there is an underlying value to it that is not greed. That is common sense investment, even if you are wrong.

When you are buying into the hottest stock like BBBY or latest NFT although there is nothing indicating an actual, reasonable value to it, that is greed. I am not saying that can not make you a profit, but your decision was based purely on greed.

Another difference is the expected realistic return. If you expect your investment to return 20%, 50%, even 100%, that can be realistic. When you think your crypto holding is going to give you a 20 bags return, that is just greed.

...something, something, pigs get slaughtered.

Which books have you read on the subject that you don't understand?
None. Like Trader Curt, what (little) I know I read online. Hardly sufficient, to be sure, but the fantastical premise and the cautionary notes by those far smarter and better informed than I am made it a nonstarter for me. But that's just me. I think I would do well to stick to my knitting. Admittedly, I'm not as adventurous as some of you folks here.

What books have you read on the subject?

So, what's the Short List of Reasons Why that guy bases his "should" on?
That article come from GWB? He posts those novels too.
Cliffs notes, if we wanna know more, leave the link.
Those long ass articles with no summary promote doubt that the poster even read the damn thing. Long ass non summarized articles?

Everybody knows...

Crypto is like a casino with a Western Union office inside,

Ok.

it's simply delusional to claim that a digital casino represents a "world-transformative milestone technology".

You literally just defined crypto as a digital casino and then created a claim out of thin air that it's delusional to think a digital casino is a "world-transformative milestone technology". Nobody called it a digital casino to begin with except for you. It's like you're arguing with yourself that your definition is terrible. :banghead:

It is an article I found worth reading. Would not have shared it otherwise. I try not to post what I don't read. If you can manage to herd the squirrels in your head for a few minutes, you might want to give it a read.

That's not an accurate assessment of what he wrote. It is nothing like him arguing with himself. He is simply arguing his point to a conclusion that you don't agree with. No internal inconsistency that I see.

Spare me, what is the conclusion for the reason that the subject should "die in a fire"?
Should roll right off the top of your mind, sir.
Name three.
