why this board isn't healthy if you trade for a living

You probably do see signs of neurosis or disorder. Here is a guy who does not like simplicity, Jack, has a complicating nature. Now, i don't know if that is a purposeful act of mesmerizing, to draw in the usual types, or, if there is an actual full blown type of market dementia that is gripping poor Jack.
Can you decide?

I think because I don't come across as a person who looks up to Eckhardt you are taking a slight offense to my posts.
How many traders trade in a way that cannot be backtested? Not every trading method is something that can be broken down into numbers that can be applied to historic data. Reading a one liner by a trader you hold in high regard and being heavily influenced by it can really disrupt your learning process.
I'm not mocking backtesting. I am saying at this stage in my trading it is irrelavent. For me to stop what I am doing and devote my time into trying to make sense and implement what a successful trader said or did would probably hurt me. Unless of course it relates to what I am doing why should I be distracted? When the time comes, if the simple idea of backtesting is applicable to the way I happen to trade, then I'm sure that I would give it a shot if it makes sense to me. But in no way will it be because some high renowned trader said so. Do you think Eckhardt stops what he is doing to try and figure out how to implement something that Buffet said on TV?
I say be dedicated, learn from the ground up, understand everything that you come across. Consistently try to disprove yourself. Be your own critic. If you come across something that can either help or hurt you, whether it had been discovered by someone known or not or not yet discovered at all, put it to the test. Just don't go jumping around because so and so who made a lot of money said so.

Thankyou, T666, very well organised. My personal synopses of Jack, has somewhat changed. Jack is not out to intentionally mesmerize, groom or take advantage of the susceptible and vunerable people of the world. It really isn't a problem for Jack, he's gone, senility is very selfish, albeit non-deliberate.
What about his carers and cultists, the SCT crowd?
Leave them alone, it's too late. They need Jack, more than they need themselves, and Jack needs nobody except himself - a madman and his cult, it's perfect.

All over the world, you can go to any university and learn philosophy 101. They teach you that good arguments come from good assumptions and good logic. You can then go down the hall to any other department and reasoning that will get you an F in Phil101 will get you an A.. in medicine and economics they routinely assign cause and effect where it doesn't exist, in geology and anthropology circular reasoning is the basis for their whole world view, etc.. so if universities are bad for your mental health how much worse would these ET forums be?

What happend to your very knowledgable idiotic thread? How can anyone in their right mind take such a valuable source of information and put it in chit-chat? What is going on in the minds of these moderators? They just do not respect the fact that you dedicated your whole entire life to amassing a motherload of Jack Hershey information and organized it in a 27 story high rise database exclusively to be used for bashing purposes right here on ET. The nerve of them!! Now you have been reduced to posting in this thread with all of the ignorant people who will never become profitable traders. Everyone not only in this thread but in all threads that aren't dictated by your harsh bitter bashing will amount to NOTHING in life!!
Don't people realize that the path to profitable trading is only possible through reading every link that you post about Jack and following your rants? Don't people get it? I mean if anyone wants to get anywhere in life they most definitley should start by agreeing with you even if they honestly don't.
C'mon people can't you see that while you may all have a life aside from your trading endeavors that there are some who are way more dedicated than you? This one person (if you want to call it that) that sits in his cold dark basement with only a laptop and stacks of controversial papers and files mostly relating to Jack abandoned any notion of the outside world for the benefit of YOU!!! Trader666 cares not about trading, movies, news, the beach... he only cares about controversial members such as Jack and people who don't agree with him. And he will stop at nothing to bring this information to you for your benefit.
