Why the media should apologize

Quote from Yannis:

They left a huge story like Obama's churchscapades unreported for many months and yelled "foul" and accusations of racism at anyone (like Sean Hannity of FoxNews) who dared look at their candidate with a modicum of suspicion. Even now, the mainstream media will not investigate and report on Obama's affiliations with the likes of Ayers and Rezco, clear threats to society both of them. Instead, their war cry is "focus on the issues" and anything else, like Obama's character, yikes, is out of bounds.

Yet, they attacked this woman viciously from day one, about her hairdo, her daughter, her ex-brother in law, etc etc, demanding DNA test results to prove that she did have a sick child, accusing her of all sorts of things that have nothing to do with "the issues." Worst of all, they relished circulating and openly reporting on the air vile and unfounded rumors, like there was nothing else to do, let's gang up on her, she's really good and, therefore, a bonafide threat to our agenda.

Disgusting hypocrites most of them!

Yes. They saw her as low hanging fruit that they could quickly destroy the same way they ruined Dan Quayle and tried to ruin Clarence Thomas. From the media's perspective, it was a slam dunk. She was an evangelical(therefore stupid), just had a less than perfect baby( hello, that's why we have abortion), had an investigation going about her brother-in-law(investigation=guilt if it's a republican) and, perhaps most delicious of all, her 17 year old daughter was pregnant(don;t they have Planned Parenthood abortion clinics in Alaska?). The media tore into her, sensing an opportunity to kill the entire McCain campaign in the crib ( just to pick a metaphor) by forcing him to ditch her. For five days solid they went after this young mother and her family. Most memorable for me were the elegant limousine liberal women trotted out to cluck that a mother with young children was just being foolish and irrepsonsible to run for office. You had to be pretty dense not to see the utter hypocrisy.

The game turned ugly for the media thursday night. It seems the hick from Alaska actually worked on camera as a TV anchor early in her career and knew how to handle a teleprompter, even a jerky one, and a camera. The 30 million people who tuned in out of curiosity were impressed. Very impressed. Here was a candidate who seemed normal, with values they understood. The names most often mentioned the next day were Reagan and Thatcher. McCain's Hail Mary seemed to be thrown by Doug Flutie.

Rasmussen is out with a poll today showing the unqualified, intolerant, ethically challenged, bad mother and hypocrite to be more popular than her opposite number Joe Biden. More popular than McCain. More popoular than...gasp, Obama.

Thanks media. Your bias and bigotry made it all possible.
