Why the controversy? Jack Hershey SCT system works just fine.

Cultism is the glue that holds it all together. Which will only work with people desperate to believe, no matter what evidence exists to the contrary.
Quote from Learning_SCT:

yes jack is hard to understand

yes SCT is like a cult and most of the sct'ers here are acting like cultists

yes there a lot of nebulous concepts

yes you need to carry a umbrella during your ''journey'' because its raining bullshit

yes there is no solid proof of anything provided by anyone

yes it appears there is more failing than winning

but what i worked on and created following the very basic stuff i read on the numerous JH threads, works good.

thats all i need.

Channels are a fairly crude approach to measuring the market, but I accept that they work some of the time.

Channels are not unique to SCT though. Can you share in plain english any of the secrets of the cult of SCT that you have found useful? I'm struggling to see what Jack has contributed to your claimed success.

Wow, you guys are so desperate to believe that your denial is stunning...

Why would I be desperate for Jack? I think he is a nutcase, but that doesn't mean someone can not trade at least part of his system profitably.

On the other hand I can read plain English and in the system's description you can find this:

"Summary based on the first 27 trading days: On average there are 7 trades a day resulting in about $92 profit per contract, AFTER commissions.... (2486/27=92)

Recalculated monthly returns after the rescaling and after commissions:

August: 15.8%
September: 9.8%"

Sounds profitable to me.... Annualized gain is over 100%... Sometimes I can't decide who are the bigger idiots, the Jack followers or the anti-Jack whiners. :)

Anyway, since I don't expect objective discussion from either sides, I am done with this thread. Enjoy the fracas!

All of your effort is certainly not taken in vain Pekelo.

I appreciate you bringing your professional skills to bear to assist us in our analysis of the Jack Hershey Starship Trading System ("JHSTS").

"7 trades resulting in about $92 profit per contract, after commissions".

That's a helluva lot of effort to make less than $100 bucks, total. I am factoring in the years it takes to understand the intricacies of the JHSTS (you don't believe me, just ask romanus).

LOL

T28 you better believe it.:D

and a quote from Don Miller's blog.

If openly sharing my 2008 journey means anything, it's that it takes a never-say-die effort, continual self-forgiveness, and faith to get that Chinese Bamboo to finally break ground.

I think it's a damning inditement of our times, that people would rather bite the hand that feeds than accept that there may be nobler motives at play.

Validating a gift... now there's an outlandish concept.

What Jack has been weathering storms of accusation, criticism and contempt to deliver is no primitive rule-based system, nor any intuitive method that is inherently flawed by human psychology. Rather it is a deeper, clearer and altogether different perspective; one that is as far removed from accepted convention as the Earth is to being the centre of the universe.

"You can get into a habit of thought in which you enjoy making fun of
all those other people who don't see things as clearly as you do. We
have to guard carefully against it." - Carl Sagan, 1987 CSICOP meeting

The hand is strangling new traders, not feeding them. And since this might be one of Jack's aliases, then...

You're desperate because you're misrepresenting this piece of crap in a pathetic attempt to make it seem better than it is. Here are the stats as of 5 minutes ago... after 8 weeks and 263 trades, up only $1361 BEFORE COMMISSIONS. Compare reality to your bullshit:
