Your mistake is in assuming the entire account hasn't been taken in to full and open minded consideration.
Often when someone hasn't done so, they'll start concluding the Bible and its characters compare as real alongside actual events like slavery.

I have assumed nothing other than your lack of attention, which you have shown us with your comparison of Bible stories to Harry Potter. It was off topic, and unneeded, and only serves to expose your settled beliefs on the subject of biblical characters.

Although if you feel it necessary to go there, I will say : There's quite a bit of compelling evidence to suggest there is valid historic content within the Bible's writings. We also know for a fact that the Harry Potter character you have referred us to is of pure fiction.

Garfield would have been a better comparison as Jim Davis at least attributes his childhood pet as inspiration for his stories about a fat and lazy cat.

So for all that, you are basically saying , contrary to what christians generally claim, the Bible is not the word of a God but rather writings attributed to people.
