Why shorting is no longer a viable strategy in the US Market.

You clearly don't get it. Lots of people made money shorting an overvalued market. And lots of people make money each and every day shorting stocks.

I was referring to the past year primarily. Note the "no longer" segment of the thread title.
 
Funny i was talking with a HUGE fund and realize we are all flys compared to the real money. we take trades and strategies having small money, trying to make the money these guys have. all the while they know the direction of the market.
