Cant the US govt just print money without having to ask permission and borrow from the Federal Reserve?
If they printed 500 trillion dollars and sent everyone a check (anyone making less that 100K a year, 200K max per couple earnings)
Wont property values go back up? and people spend again?
Quote from adadadog:
Dollar is a world currency. The impact of massive printing money may not be as bad as the two above examples, because the inflationary burden will shift to over sea dollar holders.
Quote from acepowerdrive:
what would happen if the USD is no longer a foreign reserve currency and just currency used within domestic transactions or like any currency.
that day is coming sooner than you think.
Why doesn't the US have any YUAN or Yen?
USD used to be backed by gold until 1970...for a reason,,, the gov't was in debt from the Vietnam war and needed to borrow lots of money....
