Why not CFTC release COT reports daily?

As title.

So, if you want to know the change of position distribution of Japanese Yen futures of CME after China revalued RMB on Jul 21, you have to wait until Jul 29, 6 trading day later! It is ridiculous and not helpful for most traders.

I don't think the technical difficulties are still the obstacle to publish daily COT reports nowadays.

He's right except I think they actually update it once an hour. From their home page go to "Resources" then "FXTrade Statistical Information".

The data released on Friday's is as of the previous Tuesday so it is already three days old when published. Given it's being published by a government agency, despite technology, we should probably consider ourselves lucky to get it once a week.
