Why most traders are losers

Quote from illinimatt81:

Are you implying you have only made 3 trades over the past 6 years?

i am even smarter than the OP, over the last 6 years i only made one trade. I noticed that Steve Jobs created Apple and i thought to myself "hey that looks like a great company" so i put my money where my mouth is and i bought 3000 shares at 9$ in september 2004 and then in late 2007 i noticed the market was getting a bit toppy so i sold everything at 189$ just before the top at around ~203 (so pissed at myself that i wasnt able to time it better and sell at the top but i guess thats what distinguishes an amateur from a pro), so there you have it i turned my initial investment of $27,000 into $567,000 an easy profit of over $500,000+.

In this game its not volume of trades that matters its your intelligence, you just gotta be smart about what you buy/sell.

tomsmith is obviously a guru and master market trader.

Here is a link that I use for all of ET's amazing traders--

tomsmith may be Tommy Vu.

Since this thread will soon get trashed, allow me to interject by saying "Oh, how divine! You must have also received the higher calling from THAT ONE!"

The reasons traders lose are:

1) they are opinionated

2) they get emotional

nope...the reason most are losers is because of one thing and one thing only; It has to be that way. I have known traders who are drama queens that make money hand over fist. In the end you just have to trade and find out...peace

Look everyone, stock_turd3r is back again.

I thought he had a whole index of losing stocks, yet he now claims he only traded Apple in 6 Years.

Tom,
You will not be well received around here. This is a place were vendors with products to sell hang out. Everyone here is encouraged to keep at it and never give up. This is so the vendors have food on there table.

Sure they do... because ET is such a target-rich environment filled with people just like you.

The OP forgot to relate this part of the story:

"While waiting for my next imaginary trade of the year, my pizza delivery order arrived. I opened the door to find three busty co-ed blonds dressed in undersized t-shirts and short-shorts standing there, waiting for their tip. When I told them my wallet was in the car, they said "that's ok... we had other payment arrangements in mind..."

Equally true story, the entire thread
