Right. Emigrating from Israel is a swell idea...Because 2,000 years in the Diaspora before 1948 had been a cakewalk for the jews, right? I am pretty sure the Israelis will find the idea of a pre-emptive strike to be much more appealing, your suggestions notwithstanding.

PS oh, and I doubt they will need Obama to defend them, they won all their major victories (1948, 1967, 1973) completely on their own.

I think the better question involves the motivation behind liberal Jews believing everything Hamas says and doing everything they can to destroy Israel.

Yep. I've got jewish friends and they honestly don't care what happens to Israel. When I ask why that is they say it just isn't their problem.

I've never been able to figure that out and just stopped trying.

That is probably part of the mechanism that allowed the holocaust to occur. One cannot conclude that there is a missing gene for "communal self-defense" because Israel itself is a huge anomaly in the data as they clearly defend themselves effectively there.

Jews are an enigma and aren't going to be easily understood by someone like myself. I grew up around them and don't want to see their home country destroyed. That is as far as my thinking takes me.
