Do you refer to religion as a way of controlling people and where the people in power abused religion to oppress people and also where the people subscribing to a religion mostly stopped thinking for themselves?

I'm not sure I view religion as a whole as entirely bad. Certain religions or sub-sets of religions have been worse than others.

A late aunt of mine donated most of her money to some cynical Christian channel which only after her death was accused of scamming elderly people.

of course..it is ALL about control..always has been..always will be !

there are many like your aunt..not too far from me a farmer died..single..left his farm to a major global charity..it was sold for over €450k..the MD of the charity is on about €250k per year..plus expenses !!

it all stemmed from ignorance..if you watch " the most dangerous man in tudor england"..you will see the lenghts henry the 8th went too..to keep the english translation of the bible out of england..as they didn't want the "ploughman" to get their hands on it..

funny thing about history..is that.. once you see things for what they really were..when you come across new information..as i did with tudor england above..your thoughts will just be reconfirmed..

I dl'd that movie the other day on the recommendation but have yet to watch it yet. THis will be the second movie after watching that movie about harvard law school.

Really what I'm getting from the last 2 dozen posts or so, is about the interpretation of information, or the way information is being presented. Namely in this case, being that the common man would not have to know latin to read the bible.

THis coupled with the recent posts about how everyone has access to the same charts, yet they can't see something obvious.

Any of the other plebs(those NOT in the know) have any thoughts on the most recent series of posts?

I'm curious how it relates to trading and the obvious, though. Is it as simple as questioning authority and thinking for yourself? And how those in power don't want us to see the truth as they benefit from us being misled?

If so, I assume it's just a side consideration for the thread. And I have at times wondered if the thread is geared towards absolute newbies only or for the more experienced idiots as well. Because I know I was very gullible at one point. Easily impressed and easily misled by fancy words and fancy graphs - without ever considering the lack of proof.

I assume most people progress from that naivety after a few years, but not necessarily without significant losses. So, for a newbie to come across this thread would be an absolute blessing.

some years ago..one fellow set up a load of screens sideways based on a post like this..

short answer..no..not required..just to prove a point.. sideways you can see the "balance" like a weighing scales..but don't read too much into it..

the right way up is much easier..and so simple..even a child could use it..

BUT..and i mean this..unless your mind is fully in tune with the "realities of life"..it will be nothing but wasted years..and wasted money..which of course is the norm..
